PROFESSIONAL TOOLKIT: Studio Production Continues...
Today was an amazing day on set, as allot of things actually got done.
Firstly Lucy, our production designer went and got us the materials needed for the set build. She briefed me on the following:
Then, i asked Lauren (1st AD) to work with Julia (Producer) in order to prepare a shooting schedule based on the shot lists.
All three of us worked together in order to do this. My main role here was to explain how each shot would be filmed, and what the different set-ups would be in order to avoid wasted time.
As soon as the set build had been overviewed, and scheduling was underway, on came my next task: Confirming the room booking for the casting auditions.
Now, Rosie had asked the bookings office for a room, but i never got a confirmation.
After a few emails, and asking back and forth for about an hour i managed to track down the person in charge of the room bookings, filled in the required form, got it signed off by Anne and sent it back to the bookings office.
Since GO3 was now secured, i send out messages to all of the actors inviting them to the auditions, and giving them times to attend. I also gave them my email address in case they have any enquiries.
Dowan and Lauren volunteered to help out with the auditions on Monday.
In our tutorial with Simon me, Rob, Lauren and Shahid (Director, Cinematographer, 1st AD, Storyboards) explained the complicated visual effect we were trying to pull of. Simon seemed confident with our tests, but suggested we create an animatic with rough shots in order to assist us with planning.
This animatic was planned to be done today, but Lucy told me that the set would not be done to an extent where an animatic would be useful, and it should be left for another day.
Just before the end of the day, i also conducted some further lighting tests for the "spotlight" effect on the walls.
The day ended with Lucy's team having scraped the walls, and applying the first sheets of wallpaper.
