PROFESSIONAL TOOLKIT: Avid Workshop 2

During the continuation of the previous workshops we learned the following:
  • Using bins from other projects (right click > open bin)
  • Transitions / Dissolves ( "\" key)
  • Titles using the Avid Title Tool
  • Exporting
Using the above knowlege we finished editing the hatun runa project.



Here is the final promo that we exported:

And then we went on to the second part of the book and learned:
  • Advanced bin details / organizing bins
  • Sifting / Cloning / Duplicating clips
  • Syncing (Manual & Timecode)
  • Cutting a Scene (focusing on keyboard shortcuts)
Our exercise material this time was the Fisker "The Deal" TVC.

Also, as homework, exercise 6.2 asked us to edit a car montage using mostly the keyboard shortcuts.


At first this felt strange, but as i began to edit i slowly saw that this method of editing helps get things done faster. However i'll still need to practice a bit more to get the hang of it...
