REFLECTIONS: Appropriation Videos Thoughts
These are my thoughts on the individual appropriation videos
Robert Adams:
I liked the way he managed to show how insensitive kids are to concepts like war and guns, and how those concepts are incorporated in toys.
Ulysses Almeida:
Quite humorous, i think the point was to show how silly some ads are. The opening was really cool, and i would have liked to see that style throughout the rest.
Lydia Dwek:
It was interesting, i though she was trying to show how in adverts try to be silly and out of concept from the original project. The only problem here was that there was not much editing, and there could have been a bit more material to fit the theme.
Lauren Fox:
Really liked the concept of channel skipping. Got the point of T.V. in general is just stupid though, even though the original concept was how T.V. is fake.
Lucy Jones:
Really good concept. Really good comparison of sex and it's possible effects, and how ads try to hide stuff to try and sell more.
Nicholas Lennon:
Although it was quite funny, it seemed a bit too random.
Katherine Millroy:
I liked how she showed how ads try to sell us stuff that may not be good for our health. I really liked the editing style, but the two types of ads probably needed to "clash" a bit more.
Hannah Park:
This one wins the Most Random Award. o.O
Shows how ads are really random and crazy, and it had some good editing.
Sahir Abu:
Nice way of creating dialogue from editing.
Joshua Sampson:
Liked how he's compared how at the same time healthy foods and unhealthy foods are advertised as "good". Also, as i write this, i feel hungy...
Leanna Saul:
so amaze ;)
This was was really funny, and perfectly showed how people in infomercials are shown as complete and utter dimwits...
Also really liked the use of titles.
Laura Thomas:
Quite daring, and came across as quite strong. Very political.
Also really good editing.
Charlie Whitworth:
Had a nice rhythm, but not exactly sure what the message is.
Chloe Wilson:
Quite good use of editing, but technically maybe needed a bit more.
Faerez Bagner:
Was quite weird, but that kinda helped make it impact.
